oatmeal_and_whole_grainsCarbs are not all bad as many people believe they are. In fact, certain carbohydrates can improve a dieter's ability to lose weight. With an INCREASE of the carbs such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains, a person can lose as much as two pounds a week and feel fuller as well. These carbs have lots more fiber in them and so they help workout clients feel fuller and these individuals can then stick to the eating program.
Carrots, for example, even though they have a higher glycemic index than other vegetables such as broccoli or cabbage, they still are a non-starchy vegetable and help add fiber to the diet as well as vitamins and minerals. And corn, though it is starchy, is still a whole grain and so can be treated like eating a slice of whole grain bread. Potatoes are also starchy but offer fiber and potassium so potatoes such as a baked potato are still a better choice than a slice of bread.
Fruit has higher sugar however the sugar in fruit also comes with water and fiber so the fruit helps a person feel fuller with fewer calories than other sugary choices.
Whole grains such as oats and wheat can be enjoyed as well because they offer a substantial number of minerals with very low fat costs.
