It
is well known and supported by many personal trainers that
fitness, health and longetivity can be enhanced by eating much more
vegetables. Or in simple terms, eating healthy means eating lots of
vegetables!
As a Houston Personal Trainer, I realize that many people may find it
hard to live on a 24/7 vegetarian diet, however its
not necessary to be
a total vegetarian to
reap the benefits toward health.
Try maintaining
a minimum of four, totally-veggie meals a week (one serving of raw
vegetables is a cup of food so you will feel fuller too) and fill up on
whole grains, and fresh fruit to top it off.
I read the following post
in "Testosterone nation" and am posting it here to highlight how a lot
of people feel about vegetables..." It started out as a little
experiment but now I see that vegetables really are useless." "Any
vitamin that you can find in a vegetable, you can get in a
multivitamin. I haven't eaten anything green in MONTHS. And I feel just
fine. I take a Centrum everyday which has all the vitamins I need (and
Fiber One heh). So not only do vegetables taste bad, but they have no
use anyway. I mean really, what possible benefit do you need (emphasis
on "need") from a vegetable that you can't get from supplements or
normal food? Bet you can't think of one." (Paul 2200, California)
And the Response to the post was equally as funny..(from 808 flight concepts)
"You must be one constipated son of a bi.... And when you do take a sh.., it's
probably pitch black and solid like a brick. I have a friend that knew
an employee at one of those colon cleansing establishments and this guy who only
ate bread and meat for like 10 years came in to get his colon "cleansed."
Needless to say, the tech who did that guys cleanse became a vegetarian and quit
soon after. Just my two cents--eat your veggies."
As an experienced, Houston
In Home Personal trainer, I have found it is sometimes difficult to eat
a lot of veggies in a day (five servings a day is what I require) so
getting a juicer or making smoothies will help make that easier to
accomplish. My website designer recommends the Jack LaLanne Power
juicer because it accommodates whole fruits and veggies.
