melissa_in_pinkWith more than eighty percent of American women complaining of cellulite, its no wonder there are now so many products coming out to melt it away. Cellulite is the result of loose connective tissue and poor circulation and can affect anyone regardless of weight. Plastic Surgeon Romita, M.D. from New York explains that poor circulation limits the body's ability to burn fat. The fat accumulates in the loose connective tissue which is a more open weave in the butt and thighs, and so it is more visible in those areas.
As a Houston in home personal trainer, I help individuals exercise and learn proper eating habits to burn fat off. But for some individuals who have an important event and the thighs need immediate help, there are some tricks that can help! Coffee grounds and Cranberries are two natural remedies that may help reduce the stubborn appearance of dimples caused from cellulite. Cranberries, because of their bioflavonoids are able to help the body reinforce the blood cell walls which significantly enhances circulation. The effect is so powerful, according to Gittleman Ph.D., author of THE FAT FLUSH PLAN, that just one eight ounce glass of raw cranberry juice daily will reduce dimples in as little as three weeks.

Vitamins to Plump Skin and Improve Elasticity Print E-mail
Vitamin E and Selenium together work to plump the skin and keep it smooth and elastic. Tuna, Salmon, Brazil nuts and whole wheat pasta are great sources of selenium. Some of the great plain states also have water with high selenium content. But if you do not live in the great plains, you can supplement with 100 micro grams. Most multivitamins only have 20 micro grams or less.
The best way to prevent loss of elasticity is to stay out of the sun though!

Researchers at Harvard University have determined that women who eat plant fats such as avocados, olive oil and peanut butter every day, have a lower risk of diabetes by 22 percent, than those who don't. These mono unsaturated fatty acids which are found in plants help the body's ability to use glucose and keep the blood sugar stable.
One of the best ways to avoid the onset of adult diabetes however is to avoid sugar. When the pancreas has to fight an overload of sugar for years and years, eventually it is depleted. So to keep your body in the best shape, five tsp. of sugar a week is more than enough and most people eat WAY more than that.

Children have a natural interest in activity. They run everywhere and enjoy learning how to use their bodies doing things that help them feel the world around them. As people mature, often that natural exuberance for daily activity diminishes and people become sedentary. BUT, swinging on a swing IS fun and many adults could recapture the enthusiasm for fitness by remembering the innocence of children. Houston personal trainer Melissa tells her clients to do things the LOVE to do such as jumping rope, or playing ping pong, or going swimming, or playing tag. These games are not just for children. Those WITH children have the perfect excuse to get back out on the playing field. Daily activity will create a lifetime of fitness that makes for a healthier future for those who make workouts and fun activities a priority.

It Is Possible to lose weight and look better even when injured or restricted from some exercises Print E-mail
melissa_s_kyeeWhen Houston Personal Trainer Melissa had a roller blading accident that put her out of commission for eight weeks, she knew she was going to have to be creative to maintain her fitness and workout routine in her Houston home. Before she fell, The sexy personal trainer workout at the gym included one hour of Weight training on a five day split routine, plus an hour of cardio every day. She was eating more protein(about 1500 Calories a day) to help build muscle and was keeping the cross training workouts with cardio to keep body fat low.

The Orthopedic Doctor in Tomball, Texas who gave her the arm brace told her to start moving it after about two weeks and that was the only push she needed to get back in the gym to exercise. "It was good to take time off and I got a lot of organizing and continuing education credits done while incapacitated" Houston in home personal Trainer Melissa said, "but getting back my full fitness level is also important to me and I do not want to go too long because I feel it will limit my potential".

She is an expert at designing workout and weight loss programs for OTHER people with injuries in the past so it has been a cinch to attack her own exercise routine for a similar re-vamping. Her plan was to increase the cardio slightly and decrease the weight training a lot to allow her arm time to heal.Currently she is doing workouts to lose some weight without sacrificing muscle. She has cut back on her calories to 1000 calories a day and is doing kick boxing twice a week, Spinning twice a week, machine weights on the lightest level twice a week and walking every night for a half hour.

Personal Trainer Melissa is already seeing results and has lost about four pounds. She feels tighter and her abs are getting more cut with the increased cardio, plus the cardio kick boxing really focus's on abs. "It is hard to punch with the one arm but other than that I can do most of the workout", Melissa said. I enjoy the class so much plus the other participants really motivate me which is a plus because I need more incentive when it is harder because the arm is awkward."
