TicketsNow.com scams Houston Personal Trainer and she is MAD! Print E-mail
cropped_skye_2Have you ever gotten scammed buying something on the internet? Well even though I know I'm blonde and a personal trainer here in Houston Texas, I AM smart (which may seem like an oxymoron) and up until recently I have had only good experiences with my relatively few internet purchases. Unfortunately however I too have now been scammed when buying some baseball tickets for the Houston Astro's Opening day game in Houston Minute Maid park by an disreputable site called TICKETSNOW.com. DO NOT BUY ANY TICKETS FROM THIS SITE. How did they get this Houston Personal Trainer's four hundred dollars for two Houston Astro's baseball opening day tickets you might be wondering? (Yes I paid 393.95 for two tickets to be exact but the cost is not what the issue is here even though the price is outrageous) Here is what to watch for based on my PERSONAL experience. I went to the site on Dec. 21 to purchase baseball tickets as a Christmas gift. The site advertises tickets that they DON'T actually have but they don't TELL you that..instead  when you select your Houston Astros baseball tickets from the limited selection they post (to make you think you are getting the very last best baseball seats available) ..you are then allowed to select to have additional fees charged to your credit card in order to get faster, next day delivery (which they tell you will arrive by 4:30 the following day and must be signed for in order to be delivered.) WHAT THEY DON'T tell you is that these Houston Astro opening day tickets that you are paying extra to have delivered the next day..are not even in their possession and that the ACTUAL delivery date can be MONTHS away because they are not going to ship the tickets until they have secured them..so you really are paying to get your tickets the speedy way of three months and a day instead of the slow way of three months and three days (sarcasm in case you missed that)! Who in their right mind would pay for next day delivery on a ticket they can't even get for three months. It is this Houston Personal Trainer's belief that these shipping fees are posted on the scamming TICKETSNOW.com website to mislead the buyer into thinking the tickets will arrive immediately so that the buyer will be more likely to purchase the tickets. IN ADDITION, the only other button that shows up on the site once you have selected to pay more for shipping is the GIGANTIC RED purchase now button. This unscrupulous site ticketsnow.com does not tell you that when you click the purchase now button..you are finalizing your purchase and will immediately be charged for the tickets..it does not require that you read any terms and conditions but once you purchase the tickets you are forced to be subject to these  terms and conditions anyway. When contacted directly, This company refused to refund the money paid..even though the tickets are still MIA as of 2 1/2 months later, and says that  the hyper link (in tiny print  in a separate click on the website ) of the terms and conditions, is a satisfactory way of informing prospective buyers of the pitfalls they are about to encounter. This is fraud by TICKETSNOW.com because as a business owner myself, I never assume a client knows what they are getting for their money until they have read, initaled..(or in this case CLICKED THE HYPER LINK) and agreed based on full disclosure. This company is hiding its full disclosure in a hyper link and not requiring it to be clicked as part of the purchase because this way they get more sales because consumers are conveniently unaware the delay in availability. Here is my message to you Ticketsnow.com.. Dishonesty never pays..what goes around comes around..and be looking for my complaint filed against you with the BBB online as well as the state attorney generals office. I hope my four hundred dollars was worth it to you!. (Photo of Houston Personal Trainer Melissa smiling after she takes action against scamming website TICKETSNOW.com)
