Proper Running Shoes help prevent shin splints says Austin Personal Trainer Erik |
|
|
Track
and Cross country running can put a lot of miles on a pair of running
shoes and without the proper fit, injuries and other problems can
occur. "Before you start any serious running program, I highly
recommend you invest in a good pair of running shoes," said Austin
Texas Personal Trainer Erik, who changes out his running shoes about every five hundred miles.
In Austin, Erik recommends Run Tex, which
has several locations, and in Houston he likes Fleet Feet. "Be sure to
go to a store that knows how to fit the shoe and knows how to help a
runner find the right amount of cushioning and support; which is why I
like the two shoe stores I listed..they know a lot about running and
will make the start of any running program go a lot smoother."
Austin Personal Trainer Erik also recommends using a foam roller to stretch the hamstrings, calves and IT band (which runs along side of the leg from the hip to the knee) to help keep the legs injury free.
