Sixty Four Percent of Texas are overweight and struggling with weight loss |

In a recent article in Idea Fitness Journal,
the big state
of Texas is also struggling with
a big problem of obesity (pun intended) with more than 64% having a
weight
problem. This information, which details the cost to Texas
for obesity, says that illness and insurance can cost billions to Texas
businesses the next fifteen years. Cost for additional health care and
time off
from work were major problems. And obesity related insurance claims are
rising
faster than other health costs. In the photo below children playing in Estes Park, Colorado are a good example of children everywhere who naturally maintain a state of daily physical activity, especially when the parents provide "the great outdoors" as a backdrop. The state of Colorado, which has a multitude of outdoor venues to choose from, does not have the
weight issues with its population, that Texas has and perhaps it is because people there maintain a higher level of daily activity. In plain English though, Texans who need to
lose weight do not need better insurance or more time off to improve their
situation. Instead more focus needs to be in education and prevention of
obesity in the first place and businesses might need to offer money incentives
to help employees make better health choices. With proper education, more
individuals will be motivated to maintain health, a youthful appearance and a
better quality of life. Making activity a routine, helping to make activity
easier to do by finding a variety of options, finding a partner to help keep
the activities fun, and having access to a variety of local exercise facilities
are all ways to promote fitness. Education on nutrition is also useful and
often better eating options can be provided in company break rooms and in
vending machines. A personal trainer can cost more than many people can afford
but any individual who wants to can copy a lot of the strategies Personal
Trainers use to make a positive change and lose weight and be successful on
their own. Simply put, keep a journal of eating to target diet problems and to
keep track of food calorie; do SOME type of activity that is moderately paced
for at least thirty minutes a day five days a week, and do weight training to
maintain muscle strength. Get committed by being accountable to someone who
knows of the weight loss plan or join a group such as weight watchers. Houston
in home personal training with Melissa and her staff is always an option but
even if a person wants to lose weight is not a client; they can still ask
questions on this website on the contact page without any obligation and will
get an answer most times within 24 hours free of charge.
