On her recent trip to Illinois, Houston Personal Trainer Melissa was able to pack all her stuff in two travel bags that she planned to carry on. She planned to take a brief holiday from personal training and little did she know the workout involved at the airport to board with all the new regulations in place. After jogging to the correct ticket counter from parking (at least a mile) she had to remove shoes, laptop, and all liquids in her bags. When she was told that she would have to dispose of any liquids that would not fit into a tiny little sandwich baggie, she got out of the line and got dressed again and jogged to a nearby magazine store where the saleslady showed her how to package her deodorant, lip gloss, etc.
Personal trainer Melissa jogged back to the line and again removed shoes, and laptop while displaying her little baggie of liquids. She was so grateful to be able to keep her new bottle of perfume but they airport check line took her huge new $30 bottle of hairspray, her adVantage Protein drinks, her deodorant gel, some of her makeup, her shaving cream, her toothpaste and more. (she figured at least sixty dollars of stuff was confiscated) "Can I at least DRINK one of the AdVantage drinks", the personal trainer asked...."No sweetie" was the reply.
After jogging to the departure gate (another mile) and then jogging to the hotel, Personal trainer Melissa saw a sign on the counter in the room stating that if a guest had forgotten to bring personal items such as toothpaste or shaving cream, they would supply a complimentary sample size.
In response to that sign, Personal trainer Melissa has the following comments...If a person wants to lose weight while on vacation, wear running shoes and take a bunch of stuff that will have to be repackaged or tossed..if a person wants to make extra money...sit by the screening gate with a supply of little baggies full of travel sized toiletries and sell them for twenty bucks...and if a person is the manager of a hotel in the USA, the sign should read "Because hostile neighbors to the USA have made it necessary for airline guests to have their carry on toiletries confiscated, this hotel is giving complimentary travel sized toiletries to all its guests who can show an airline ticket!
