Abigail and Richard live in Downtown Houston and the personal training workouts they do are beautifully set off by the Houston skyline right at sunset. They are both busy professionals and their commitment to exercise and nutrition has helped them lose a significant number of inches already. Abigail a former gymnast and Richard a former football player, decided to do workouts together to give them bonding time as a couple and to enhance their lifestyle with healthy activities that would promote fitness such as playing tennis, walking, cooking together and working out with Houston Personal Trainers Melissa and Stephanie. Both had unique goals to meet and both have had to make adjustments, sometimes hard ones, in scheduling and eating, in order to see faster results. Abigail loves the three grain pancakes she has in the morning and Richard loves how they are eating at home more. They both enjoy the time together during the workouts even when the workouts are difficult.
"I make the hour long personal training session count" said Melissa. "They do two strength building workouts a week with me and one kickboxing workout a week with Stephanie". Melissa has also brought in a martial arts specialist once and a volleyball conditioning advisor another time to add interest and intensity to the workouts. "Abigail and Richard like to be outside so the workouts often involve use of the med ball and start with lunges and a side twist holding the ball", said Houston Personal trainer Melissa . Shoulder presses and tricep presses are also good to do with a med ball because each person has to squeeze the ball while doing the movement which makes the exercise even more difficult. When they can keep up, Abigail and Richard are quick to " high five" each other and when they are tired they know to rest and drink water. Stretching happens at the end of each workout and even though they don't love yoga, they have learned a few moves that are helpful. When the Houston weather has been oppressive, the downtown outdoor evening workouts seem cooler with breezes created by the tall buildings which have an airfoil effect. They are usually the only ones out there but eventually there will be more young professionals like them taking advantage of the beautiful downtown Houston sidewalks to get in shape. Couples can motivate each other and often couples working out together can be pleasantly compatible and also nurturing and supportive which can lead to faster chances of success. This is definitely the case with Ryan and Denise, a newlywed Houston Area couple learning how to help each other feel strong with an overall exercise program that burns fat (Denise wants this result) and builds muscle (Ryan wants that result) Though the two are miles apart in their workouts, Houston Personal Trainer Melissa has designed the workouts to be done in tandem and the two clients are surprisingly compatible and are doing well with the individualized in home Houston personal training. "They are working hard in the workouts and even more importantly, they are making necessary changes in their normal eating habits," said Melissa. The meals are fun to plan and they are enjoying cooking as a couple instead of spending all their money and time eating out. Plus eating at home is usually more nutritious and the food is more varied. Ryan works surveying outdoors and is usually very hot and tired so eating can be an effort. By making his meals super simple and calorie dense, he has been able to add ten pounds of body mass in a very short amount of time. Denise has begun to learn how to pay attention to portion sizes, because she has learned she does not need as much food as she originally used to eat when she was more active. Now that she is doing a sit-down job, it is harder for her to burn off the extra calories so she is becoming very strict about doing enough exercise and watching her portions. These two will be training for only a short amount of time because they have managable goals but the effort will be well worth it.
