Soft Drinks with the high sugar can lead to diabetes |
|
|
According to Reuters Health, people who drink even just one soft
drink (or other sugary drink) per day have an 83 percent higher risk of
developing type 2 diabetes. In addition, soft drink consumers are more
likely to become obese. The problem with soda is that liquids are so
readily consumed that its difficult to remember the calories involved.
Soft drink consumption has risen in the last decade by about 61 percent
which matches the increase in type 2 diabetes and obesity. TIP..if you
crave the soda fizz.. try taking a half cup of cranberry juice or grape
juice and mixing it with a half cup of club soda..the fizzy beverage
will quench your thirst with fewer calories and less sugar..plus you
get some vitamins in the drink...try it!!
Think of it like this...if the human body only has a limited amount of insulin to help it stabilize blood sugar..that insulin is depleted too rapidly by constantly subjecting the body to sugar.
